The following are some WC&C resources useful for directors of conferences & centers:
Join WC&C- Membership in WC&C is a low-cost way to increase your exposure and join a community of conference directors who understand your concerns. Learn about the benefits of membership and then become a member.
Update Your Listing Information- If you are a new or renewing member, or if there are any changes to your listing information, please notify us so that we can update your listing. You can also send us images to appear on your listing.
Hallmarks of a Successful Writers' Conference- These hallmarks represent a superior writers' conference that serves attendees expectations: to further their craft of writing, make them better readers, invigorate their own work by stimulating interaction with other writers and with teachers.
Benefit Reading Series- Everyone who coordinates writing conferences, centers, retreats, or festivals should take advantage of The Association of Writers & Writing Programs' Benefit Reading Series. AWP maintains a list of poets and writers who have each agreed to donate the honorarium from one reading to AWP, and to set that honorarium at a low $1000 plus expenses.
Articles from The Director- The Director was a biannual newsletter appearing in the spring and fall. It is no longer in print, but several issues and articles are available online for reference.
Advertisement Discount Directory- One of the many benefits of being a WC&C member is discounts for advertising with many different presses & magazines. See the list for discounts of 5%-15%.
Discussion Forum- There is a section of the AWP's forums and weblogs (The Writers' Circle) specifically dedicated to WC&C. This is a private discussion area available only to directors of writing conferences and centers.
