Description:

The Write Stuff is the annual conference of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group. It offers valuable opportunities to network with and learn from published authors, agents, editors, and other writers.

A special feature this year is a two-full-day pre-conference workshop, "How to Plot Like the Pros,"  led by conference keynote James N. Frey, author of nine novels plus the critically acclaimed guides How to Write a Damn Good Novel, How to Write a Damn Good Novel II, The Key: How to Write Damn Good Fiction using the Power of Myth, How to Write a Damn Good Mystery, and the forthcoming How to Write a Damn Good Thriller.

Friday evening: Page Cuts critique sessions; agent Kim Lionetti (BookEnds) on pitching to agents and editors; welcome reception.

Saturday: Frey on "The Power of Knowing Your Premise" and "How to Write Damn Good Prose"; Sonnenblick on writing for middle grades and young adults; MacNish on sexual tension and creating time/place in historicals; Soper on newspaper columns; Sangiorgio on the nuts and bolts of magazine writing; Kent on first pages (advance submission workshop) and writing action scenes; Cochran on sustaining your career. Plus, concurrent pitch sessions with agents and editors by appointment, informal genre chats, flash contest, book fair/signings; afternoon social.

Conference fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

Separate pre-conference workshop fee includes two full days, Thursday/Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., plus box lunch.
