Description:

Since 1996, Vermont College of Fine Arts has offered a unique summer conference for all advanced writers, with MFAs or equivalent backgrounds, seeking a place to connect and recharge, and boost their process and craft to new levels.  At the heart of the experience is PWC's small-workshop format.  Critique groups limited to five or six participants encourage a level of intimacy and intensive focus on each writer's work that year after year leads attendees to rate this their all-time best workshop.  The outstanding caliber of our instructors—a changing lineup of acclaimed author-teachers, including members of VCFA's renowned writing faculty—fosters the transformative nature of the conversation. Along with groups in creative nonfiction, novel, short story and writing for young adults, we offer both poetry and our special poetry manuscript sections.  Beyond the daily workshop and one-on-one consultations with faculty, the schedule features readings by faculty and participants, craft classes, issues forums, shared meals and a variety of social events that help galvanize our lively, inclusive community.  Visit our website for full details, and contact Ellen Lesser, Conference Director, to inquire about openings and scholarship opportunities.
