In all of my teaching, I seek to provide a safe, supportive environment for writers to express themselves and to grow personally and in their writing. My students say they find my style nurturing, honest, and forthright.

I find that my lifetime of training and experience in neuropsychology, eastern and western religions, facilitation and training of adults, and working with Native Americans serves me well as a foundation for my teaching and writing.

I have published training manuals, magazine articles, short stories, and the nonfiction book, Mary's Way, and edited for individuals and publishers. Since adolescence, my personal writing provided the grounding for my inner exploration while writing nonfiction and fiction became my mode of creative self-expression.

Description:

Mornings in group you will practice using Centered Writing Practice to inspire new material and to explore writing tools and craft. Feedback is supportive and positive. The choice of tools and craft introduced is tailored to the needs of individuals in the group. Afternoons, you have time for writing and naps, hiking, swimming, and/or canoeing.  Meals and the pre-dinner gathering provide time to socialize and share your writing journey with other participants. Each evening group meeting will focus on a particular topic like sensory description, dialogue, or publication.  Participants are also invited to sign up for opportunities to read from what they are writing in the afternoons or from a current project.  Limited to 11 women.
